Eats, Sips & Snaps #7 | February

No theme to speak of this month, just another bunch of Eats, Sips & Snaps to round up from a bloody freezing February. It all started with a London Cheap Eats team night out at Radio Alice in Hoxton to celebrate the 1st year birthday of our website. The next evening was mostly spent waiting for two seats to become available at Kricket‘s new site in Soho – the food was bloody brilliant, but you are best off booking a table for 4 or more downstairs until the queuing carnage has died down.

A week or so later, I caught up with Leyla & Bisi from LCE again at the launch of Shake Shack in Victoria. We ate all the food. In complete contrast, I found myself at Tom Seller’s acclaimed Restaurant Story the following day taking photos of Anspach & Hobday’s new Story Saison brewed exclusively for the restaurant.

After a half-term escape to Scotland (photos to follow), I packed a lot in to the last fortnight of the month, including superior meals at Hopscotch, Mandarin Street, and Foley’s and a decadent lunch spread at the Dominique Ansel Bakery in Victoria with the LCE team. I also squeezed in a boozy bourbon event at Merchant House of Fleet Street, drinks at East London Liquor Co and Redchurch Brewery Urban Farmhouse, and flying visits to relative newcomers Queen’s and Nape in Camberwell. Phew. Next up : The month of many birthdays…
