As Summer begins to fade away, allow me to briefly reminisce about a wonderful evening of sunshine, flamingos and pina coladas. Back in July, Belsazar Vermouth put on one hell of a party on the roof of The Aviary in Finsbury Square to launch their Summer Riesling 2018 edition amongst friends and boozehounds. This year’s version is a tropical delight, made with riesling from Dr. Ernst Loosen’s vineyards alongside a mix of botanicals including dried Azores pineapples. It’s dangerously drinkable, both neat on ice and in an array of cocktails, especially if Callum O’Flynn is making them. If you see it, buy it, as it won’t be around for long!
