I was waiting to post pictures from a stellar night at Swingers until I had edited a video to put up too, but six months later it still hasn’t materialised. Who’s in charge here?! Anyway, it’s time to get on with it, basically. If you aren’t familiar with Swingers, it’s not what you think. Unless you were thinking about crazy golf, street food and booze under one roof. They followed up their successful spot in The City with another adult playground (stop it) in the West End, round the corner from Oxford Circus. Once again, there are outstanding rotating food options – currently Patty & Bun, Made of Dough, Breddos Tacos and Hackney Gelato – and decent drinks options aplenty.
But the star of the show is the crazy golf. Two nine hole courses and the eponymous centre pieces, The Helter Skelter and The Big Wheel, dominate the space. We sought out elusive holes-in-one (rewarded with free shots) on tests like “The Corkscrew” and “The Barrel Jump” with limited success, but it’s the taking part that counts, right? Hours flew by, copious negronis were consumed, and somebody won the golf thing. I suggest that you do the same, so grab some mates, cancel any early morning meetings, and swing til you can’t swing any more.
